In addition to offering courses in organic agriculture as part of the regular college program, since 1987 Cégep de Victoriaville and its teaching staff have provided support to organic agriculture in many ways.
Requests for assistance from the farming community have increased steadily over the years, but until recently the Cégep had no formal structure enabling it to meet the various needs. In 2008, a study was carried out to assess the usefulness of setting up an organic agriculture expertise and transfer centre. The response from the community was very positive. CETAB+ fills a major void in support for organic agriculture in Québec. Since January 2010, the date of the official launch of CETAB+, many applied research, technology transfer and conference projects have been created.
